The main reason wedding couples choose a DJ is that the selection of music a DJ can play spans across all ages and tastes. But aside from music, your DJ will also act as your Master Of Ceremonies to help maintain the proper flow during the reception. Your DJ will coordinate with your photographer to get all the right pictures for your wedding album. So while you may be thinking of hiring a DJ just for the music, remember to consult with him or her a few weeks before the wedding to discuss the desired order of events, such as the cutting of the wedding cake, the toast, and the bouquet and garter toss.

Finding a photographer can be one of the most agonizing experiences if you don’t know what you are doing. After all, you only have one shot at capturing one of the most important days of your life. When considering potential photographers be sure to ask many questions. Don’t just talk to the photographers over the phone. Visit the photographer’s studio or office and be sure to take family members or close friends with you. You will be able to make a better decision about the photographer’s personality and style if you bring people along to ask the questions that you may not think of. You want to make sure the food is of high quality and hot food is served hot and cold food is served cold. If you can work from 9 to 5 and still come home and serve a hot meal, you certainly expect no less of someone who serves food for a living. Open House at Palmetto Riverside Bed & Breakfast

No Job is Finished Until the Paperwork is Finished!
Sometimes the marriage license/certificate process is simple. Sometimes it is more complicated.
Couples from the Netherlands require an additional document, an Apostil, certifying that a Notary Public is authorized to marry people in Florida.
The second of my three weddings on 11/11/11 was a lovely couple eloping from the Netherlands. It was their intention to go back to the courthouse on Monday, Nov. 14, to take care of the paperwork and ship it to Tallahassee and then on to their home. However, a relative of the bride became seriously ill and the couple decided to change their flight and go home on Saturday.
That left me to take care of the paperwork. After the ceremony, the groom thrust a handful of $20s at me and asked me to deal with it. I live in Sarasota, but the couple stayed in Bradenton and had gone to the Manatee County Courthouse (which is being remodeled and the surrounding streets are torn up). So, that meant a trip to Bradenton to get the marriage license certified where it had been issued. I then stopped at UPS to get the proper labels and envelopes to ship the documents first to Tallahassee and then on to Holland.
A second trip, the next day, to UPS to get clarification (Why do I have to call a letter a ‘package’ in order to figure out the fee for ground shipping to Tallahassee? Why am I called the sender, not the third party, when the second packet is being sent from Tallahassee) and shipped off the packets – one inside the other.
I then sent an e-mail to the newlyweds giving them the tracking numbers for both packets.
Total of three hours of my time, but the documents have arrived and the newlyweds are happy!
